On May 28, 2025, the Assembly of the Center for Latin American Monetary Studies (CEMLA) held its meeting in San Salvador, El Salvador. The session was chaired by the Banco de España and attended by representatives of the Center's member central banks.
During the meeting, the process of electing the Board of Governors for the 2025–2027 term was carried out. In accordance with Article 17 of the CEMLA Statutes, the Banco de México holds a permanent seat on the Board in its capacity as the central bank of the host country. The remaining six seats were elected, resulting in the following composition:

Following the election, the new Board of Governors held a brief meeting to appoint its Chair for the new term, with this responsibility falling to the Banco de España. The representatives who will attend as general and special consultant members, the Federal Reserve Board and the Bank of Canada, were also confirmed.
